Learning with school horses in Wedel

Without a horse

You want to truly understand horses — not just sit on them? Maybe you have bad memories of traditional riding schools, maybe you're just starting out as an adult, maybe you're getting ready for your first own horse. With me you learn in a calm atmosphere, at your own pace and with horses that are genuinely well. Because only a horse that feels good can be a good teacher to you.

Our school horses

My school horses live in an open stable with 24 hours of free movement, are treated therapeutically on a regular basis and wear only checked, well-fitting equipment. They aren't comparable to what you might know as a "school pony" — and you'll feel exactly that from the very first moment.

Lessons & groundwork

With me you get private lessons — riding and groundwork, 30 to 60 minutes each, from the very first contact to the finest exercise. Small groups are possible when the level of training matches up. At your first session you get a thorough introduction to grooming and tacking up, and I'm always close by. Adult beginners and returning riders are expressly welcome — it's never too late to start properly.

What does the first lesson look like?
We get to know each other, and you get to know your school horse: grooming, tacking up, first exercises — all calmly and with guidance. By the way, the time spent getting ready doesn't count as lesson time, so you lose nothing.
What does it cost?
The price holds more than my time: high-quality equipment, the facility, insurance — and above all the veterinary, therapeutic and farrier care of the horses. Just ask me, and I'll happily put together your individual package.

The Goldpferd membership

Care & riding membership

Always wanted a horse to look after regularly? With the Goldpferd membership you take responsibility for one of my horses or ponies — with fixed appointments, expert guidance and everything that goes with it. You can be part of a young horse's education, or learn how to keep an older horse fit and motivated. It prepares you for your own (young) horse better than any traditional riding school could. And when you're ready, you'll also be allowed to practise and train on your own.

Courses, seminars & topic evenings

I regularly host clinics, training days and theory evenings here in Wedel — plus horse-assisted seminars with wonderful partners like Telse Hansen, Britt Wenckebach and Claudia Sieh. Here you get to look beyond the everyday, ask questions and get to know yourself a little better too. Take a look at the dates — there's bound to be something for you.
